Celebrating being NEAT on N day!

Hello Everybody!
Happy N Day! We hope you had a NEAT N day today! We had a really NEAT day today because we got to start our day off with clubs. This was our last clubs session but boy was it NEAT!! We did all sorts of things like decorate T-shirts, make bead necklaces, cook fancy food and make snakes out of ties! We were just NUTTY about clubs!

After Clubs, we went to Music and had fun with the beautiful Mrs. Cushing! We had a really NEAT time with her! Following Music, we came back to Mrs. J's room to get ready for Math. The friends in Mrs. J's room had a really NEAT time in Math because they got to play concentration on the SmartBoard. They also got to play the Vortex game! It was a really, really NEAT day in Mrs. J's room!

We went to lunch after Math and then came back to the room for reading centers. For science, we made up quiz questions on the different habitats we are learning about. We are going to try and stump some of our friends! For activity, we got to play on Ticket to Read or Earobics and it was the NEATEST thing ever! For writing, we finished up our club journals. They came out beautiful and really NEAT!

Well, that's about all the NEAT things we did today and we hope you continue to have a NEAT N day! Write with you again tomorrow on the magical M day! Happy M Day Eve!
Love,
Mrs. J and her NEAT peeps

Outrageously, Orange and Only Orderly Peeps rockin' on O Day!

Hello Everybody!
Happy O Day to you! We have had an outrageously orange day today! We did our famous morning meeting where we sang our famous songs, we fixed our famous calendar and we read our famous morning message! We also got to do Animal Cards this morning! We love it when the Internet is working!! We traveled to the Bamboo Forest of China this morning. We're still pretty tired from our flight back but we did learn about the golden monkey, the golden pheasant and the panda. Did you know that a panda eats for 14 hours a day?!!!!!! That's OUTRAGEOUS (says the whole crazy class)! That means that a panda sleeps for 10 hours a day- WOW! After Animal Cards, we went to P.E. We did Wacky Relays today. We had to complete a wacky obstacle course holding either a fish or a chicken!!! That's OUTRAGEOUS (thinks Mrs. J ;-)

After P.E., we had Math. For Math today, the friends in Mrs. J's room had to complete an OUTRAGEOUS pattern puzzle. Mrs. J tried to stump the class but she did not succeed. Everyone got the answers right and then they did the bonus! It took some friends a long time but they all got their skittle in the end! It was OUTRAGEOUS! Then we went to lunch. Following lunch, we came back to the classroom for centers. For Science today, we did a Venn Diagram where we compared two habitats. Everybody did a great job! For activity today, we did a following directions game. Friends had to write words on their papers that started with the letter O and then follow the directions on the board. For example, draw an octopus above the word octopus. It was really OUTRAGEOUS and fun! Finally, it was time for recess! We had an OUTRAGEOUS snack today! We had chocolate covered marshmallows which looked kind of like "O's" and we had orange (gold fish) plus we had some Chex because they looked kind of orange too. It was really an OUTRAGEOUS snack! We loved it!

We went to recess and it was OUTRAGEOUS! We are now writing to you and want to thank you for all the comments you leave on our blog. We love blogging and we love getting comments! We hope you have a great rest of your O day and stay tuned for more blogging tomorrow when we join you again on N day! Happy N Day Eve!

Puzzling, Peppy, Playful and Pretty Perfect Peeps on P Day!

Hello Everybody!
Happy P Day to you! We have had a PRETTY PERFECT P day today! We started our day off with our famous morning meeting! We sang our famous songs, we fixed our famous calendar and we also read our famous morning message!! We didn't get to do Animal Cards this morning because the Internet was not acting so PERFECT for us! We couldn't even see Mrs. J's PLAYFUL pups! We did get to see a picture of Gavin's hot-dog dog and his cat! We also got to see a picture Joshua's pet snake, Princess Petunia, and Chihuahua, Junior! Nate also showed us a picture of his pet cats, Tigger and Frederica! It was PERFECT fun to share our PETS!

We went to the library for our special today and then we came back for Math. For Math in Mrs. J's room today, we did a really neat Math Journal question. It was called The P Day Pattern Puzzle! The friends in Mrs. J's room had to figure out the types of patterns she wanted and then they had to make a pattern puzzle for her! It was PERFECTLY PATTERN-RIFIC!

After Math we headed to the cafeteria for lunch! YEAH for lunch! It was PERFECTLY yummy in every way! After lunch, we came back to the classroom for reading centers. The friends at Mrs. J's table had to take a reading test today. It was PUZZLING... only PARTIALLY PUZZLING (says Connor)! In activity, we got to play on Ticket to Read or Earobics. For science, we did a really neat experiment on camouflage. Mrs. J cut out pipe cleaners for us and then Mrs. Allen spread them out on the playground and then we had to look for them. We came back and counted how many pipe cleaners we had and then we did the whole experiment again to make sure we found all of the pipe cleaners. It was really fun!!

We just got back inside the classroom from P.E.2 and the weather was PERFECTLY splendid! It was breezy and cool! It was PERFECT and just how we like it (says Connor and Ben).
We hope you have had a fantastic P day and were able to wear your pajamas to work today! Or you could have worn pink or purple with your pants like Mrs. J and that would be PERFECT (says the walking dictionary Connor ;-)
Thanks for reading our blog with us and we'll write to you again tomorrow! Happy O Day EVE!

Connor, Ellie, José Manuel, Jennifer, Megan, Ben, Ethan, Nate, Caroline, Matthew, Jamie, Justin, Lucy, Gavin, Isana, and Makayla

We also learned that Plains Zebras go on a "Great Migration" with antelopes, wildebeests, and other animals. The leader zebra that leads the animals is called a stallion. Finally, we got to hear the sound that a Plains Zebra makes and it sounds like bubbles echoing- it's QUIRKY!

S day slips in and out with a SPLASH!!

Hello Everybody!
What a SUPER S day we had today!! We started our day off a little different today with Clubs. We LOVE Clubs! Every friend in Multi-Age gets to pick a club and then they get to go to that club for four sessions. Some of the clubs are cooking club, springtime crafts club, human body club and many others! Clubs are SUPER and we learn SO man SUPER things! After Clubs, we got to go to Music with the lovely Mrs. Cushing. We love Mrs. Cushing and her class is so fun because we get to SING SONGS and play SUPER instruments. Thanks, Mrs. Cushing, for making music so fun! After Music, we came back to the classroom for Math. In Math today, we played "The Great Dice Challenge" game. Gavin was the teacher which meant that he got to roll the dice on the Smart Board while the friends in each grade level took turns getting to answer the questions on their dry erase boards. After every grade level gets a turn at answering 20 questions, we have a SUPER Bowl and today the SUPER bowl was extra SUPER! Our first place winner was José Manuel, our second place winner was Gavin and our third place winner was Ben, Way to go, friends!!
After Math, we went to lunch and had a SUPER and SPLENDID time there! We came back to the classroom to do reading centers. For centers today, we did some really SUPER things! For Science, we got to play Quiz, Quiz, Trade where we trade quiz cards with our friends. The cards have questions about animals and habitats on them so we love quizzing our friends on them. We have learned about six habitats so far, the Amazon Rainforest, the Florida Everglades, the Canadian Rockies, the Serengeti, the Sonoran Desert and the Australian Grasslands. Maybe you can come to our classroom one day and we can quiz you on all the things we have learned... it would be SUPER!!
We finished up our S day eating strawberries and being very studious students! We hope you had a SUPER S day too and can't wait to write to you again tomorrow! Happy R Day Eve!

Tales from the Terrific, Talented and Tremendous little Tweets!!

Hi Everybody!
Today is T Day and guess what?? It's T day on Tuesday (says Connor)! We had a TERRIFIC T day! You want to know what we did today? Well, we're going to tell you anyway! We started the day off with our famous Morning Meeting. We sang our famous songs, we fixed our calendar and we counted another ones block and found out that today is the 160th day of school! So, we deleted all our ones blocks and added another tens block to the pack. It was pretty terrific! After Morning Meeting, we went to P.E. where we played a game called, Giant's Cave (says the class so loud that Mrs. J hurt her ears!) Gavin and Isana were the giants and the rest of the class were running around the field with flags on their waists for Gavin and Isana to catch them. It was really terrific! After P.E., we came back to the classroom all hot and sweaty and it was terrific!! We did Math after P.E. In Mrs. J's class, we did a really neat Math Journal question (Connor says it was trivial but Mrs. J thinks it was significant) where the friends had to find things in the classroom that had more than 4 vertices and 4 sides and they also got to do some bonus questions! They were hard but they were also TERRIFIC! The friends who completed the whole challenge got two skittles for all their hard work- it was TERRIFIC!
Finally, it was time for lunch! We all had a TERRIFIC lunch! After lunch, we had centers and it was TERRIFIC! For Activity, we wrote about a person we admire the most and Mrs. J got a lot of admirations(says Connor) from her PEEPS! She felt very happy and TERRIFIC (says her peeps)!! In Science, we made a new flip-book for the newest habitat we are learning about. Our flip-book is about the Serengeti and it is TERRIFIC! Once centers were over, we had P.E.2 also known as the TERRIFIC recess (again says Connor)! Now we are finally relaxing in the classroom writing this blog to you. It feels TERRIFIC to be writing to you and the temperature in the classroom feels really TERRIFIC after a hot day on the playground!
Well, that's about all the TERRIFIC writing we have for you today and we hope you have also had a TERRIFIC, TALENTED, AND TREMENDOUS T day Tuesday!

The Unselfish, Understanding, United States of America color wearing Peeps!

Hello Everybody on the Blog!
Welcome back to our blog for U day! Today we had an awesome day! We started the day out with our famous Morning Meeting. We sang our favorite songs and we filled in the dates on the calendar. We also read the morning message and we added another ones block to our counting the days we have been in school. Can you believe that we've been in school for 159 days??? That's CCCCCCCRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZYYYYYY!
We were supposed to go to the library for our special today but the teacher was absent so we went to the computer lab instead. We played on Ticket To Read and it is a really fun game (says Connor). We were also lucky enough to watch some more of our Jeff Corwin movie. He is such a funny guy! We got to see a wallaby today and a blue-tongued skink! Did you know that the blue-tongued skink can make itself flat as part of its adaptation and camouflage?
After computer lab, we came back to the classroom for Math. The friends in Mrs. J's class did a really neat Math Journal question. They had to find things in the classroom that were cubes, cylinders, rectangular prisms, spheres and the bonus was having to find cones and pyramids! It was pretty tough but one friend managed to find them all and was rewarded the first new skittle- way to go, Gavin! Following Math, we went to lunch where we devoured our food!
Next came centers! For centers today, we wrote about how wonderful we were to our mothers on Mother's Day and for Science, we finished up all our unfinished work. For activity, we finished working on our Spider Maps. A spider map helps make our writing more organized and easier to make sentences. It makes it neater too (says Nate).
We just finished up a lovely time on the .....("Justin Byrd come to the office please"... says the office)... now back to what we were talking about!!! We had fun on the playground and now we are busy writing our blog to you. Thank you to all the wonderful peeps who have been leaving comments for us- WE LOVE COMMENTS!!

Have a understanding, unselfish and unbelievably awesome rest of your U day!
Love the peeps and peep-etts in Mrs. J's unboring (Connor says) class,
Connor, Ellie, Megan, José Manuel, Ben, Lucy, Joshua, Nate, Ethan, Matthew, Jamie, Caroline, Gavin, Isana, and Makayla
